In early June the life of 23-year-old Teade 492 Sport came to an end at the Iron Spring Farm in America. ‘He was one of the friendliest horses I’ve known’, Mary Alice Malone tells us, owner and rider of Teade 392. ‘He was ever so friendly and charming and just loved people. And he really knew how to pose for family or a large audience. For a photo shoot he would behave like a pop star.’
Off to America at the age of four
Teade was born as Trinko M. in breeder A. van de Meer’s yard. He is a son of Anton 343 Sport Preferent and Star mare Irma van ‘t Zuid (Pike 316 x Ewoud 250) from pedigree 103. He was approved in 2001 with a total score of 77.4 points in his Central Examination.
As a 4-year-old in 2002 he emigrated to Iron Spring Farm in Pennsylvania, America. He did well in dressage sports mostly, and this is how he earned his Sport predicate. Until last year he was still doing active services as a a stud stallion. Especially his friendly character and impressive feathers, like his sire, made him popular with the American breeders. Teade 392 leaves one Model mare, two Crown mares and with Sipke 450 Sport AA (damsire Ulke 338) also one approved son.
