Tribute favoured by sunshine
During the grand finale at the end of a from time to time rainy, but above all busy and sociable horse event day in Harich, there was sunshine again when Janke was adorned with the Champion sash. ‘We have seen so much quality’, Head of Jury Corrie Terpstra enthused. ‘Horses with breeding type and good movement, horses that are all every bit as good.’ She described the Champion couple as horses with a good walk. ‘Including suppleness and with power from the hind leg as well as bend in the hock.’
After two days of inspections the final of finals of the CI brought together all Champions and Reserve Champions. The Youngster Champion, the Champion 3-year-olds, of the category 4- to 6-year-olds and of the 7-year- and older category. All of them trotted their rounds through the ring where Jury representative Corrie Terpstra finally pointed out the best of these seven. ‘The Champion and Reserve Champion are such a close match. They both have a strong walk, with the one excelling in suppleness and the other catching the eye with great power in the hind leg as well bend in the hock.’
