Three years ago David Buehler´s foal Barinja van Aeueli (Jasper 366 x Gjalt 426) became the Overall Day Champion with a first premium in Switzerland. Since October the 5th Barinja can now sport the Star predicate because she was awarded a second premium. ‘A longlined, well-built 3-year-old mare,’ said Harrie Draaijer who assessed the horses together with Popke van der Meulen, ‘she could have made a bit more front in movement though. Her walk and trot were regular and light-footed. Barinja was again chosen as the Day Champion.’ A total of fifteen horses were inspected, presented by Dik and Nicole Brummel and Piet Sibma.
A Neat Quadrille Performance
In the gelding category the 4-year-old Wouter van ’t Rot (Fonger 478 x Folkert 353) became Star with a second premium. He was bred by Mrs M. van Steenis and is owned by Silvia Fortina. ‘With his appealing front and expressive head this gelding has a lot of breed expression,’ Draaijer stated, ‘the walk had lots of quality and the trot showed satisfactory self-carriage.’ Draaijer complimented the organisation with the inspection: ‘The assessments took place in a splendid hall with a fine ring. During the break we could enjoy a wonderful performance by a group of quadrille riders.’
