Star first-premium gelding Ynte fan Vels Star (Hessel 480 x Haitse 425) became Champion in Tryon, North Carolina on Monday the 10th of October. Reserve Champion was the 3-year-old Katsje C. Star (Norbert 444 x Doaitsen 420) who received a Star with a first premium. Her dam Panter C. Crown AA (Doaitsen 420 x Sape 381) earned herself the Crown predicate. So double joy for Grant & Susan Cassem who travelled home with a Star mare and a Crown mare.

Crown mare Panter C.

In the morning, Jury members Wil Thijssen and Frans Smits could award the 9-year-old Star mare Panter C. 80.5 points for her IBOP. With the AA predicate this was enough for the Preliminary Crown mare to be declared Permanent Crown, but an invitation for Model escaped her at the inspection.
Two brand-new Star mares could make a bid for the Mare Championship. Panter’s 3-year-old daughter Katsje C. earned a Star with a first premium. The 4-year-old Gemma (Norbert 444 x Ulke 338), out of sport mare Lobke E Star Sport Elite who is very successful in America, was given a Star second premium and this mare, bred by Sue Neipert and owned by Charla Salathe, could line up next to Katsje as the Reserve Champion.

Youngster Champion Marije M. (Markus 491)

In the foal category it was filly foal Valéria fan Link (Hessel 480 x Bene 476) who was awarded a first premium with an 8 for conformation and another 8 for her attractive trot. One yearling and one 2-year-old made the mark for the Youngster Championship. Yearling Samantha D of D.R.F (Tjaarda 483 x Doaitsen 420) and Marije M. (Markus 491 x Alke 468), both in ownership of Justin Leveris, each received a second premium. It was Marije – bred by the Mulder-v.d. Bij family from Opeinde, who was declared Youngster Champion with Samantha as her Reserve Champion.
In the colt category there was a Star for Jelano von Lungau (Tiede 501 x Onne 376) who comes out of the successful Qantje antje Preliminary Crown AAA mare from Jan Peeters’ breeding stud. Qantje antje is owned by Friesenpferde Lungau and is rather successful at inspections in Austria.

Impressive first-premium Star for Ynte

This time however, the Day Title did not go to a lady but to a gelding. Ynte fan Vels earned a Star with a first premium and was decorated with the Champion rosette. Ynte is a half brother of Puck ‘fan Vels’ Crown Sport AAA (Norbert 444), bred by the Vels family in Westendorp.
