The last combination in the ring during the IBOP in Panningen on Saturday the 23rd  of April totted up the highest score. Byp van ‘t Lansink Star (Alwin 469), owned by Rinus Loman and Carla Nijdam, earned 87 points and the AAA predicate. ‘You must have thoroughly enjoyed your ride’, Jury member Corrie Rave said to rider Fleur van Kempen. ‘Byp moves with great ease and shows good use of the body in all paces.’ The tall mare demonstrated great posture and a fine silhouette. For walk she received a 7, and she had 8 and 8.5 scores for posture and balance. With scope, carrying capacity, balance and capacity for transitions Byp secured the AAA designation. That makes Byp the third generation in a row with a triple-A score. The 6-year-old mare is a daughter of the richly-decorated Wyp van ‘t Lansink Model Sport Preferent Performance AAA (Beart 411 x Maiko 373), who once won herself a nomination for Horse of the Year.

Alberto k: fine presentation

There were three horses with more than 80 points in the IBOP, judged by Corrie Rave and Jos van der Wal. Along with Byp, also making quite an impression was Alberto k (Jouwe 485 x Rindert 406). ‘We found this horse really charming, it was a fine presentation’, Corrie Rave explained. ‘The overall picture was very pleasant and the horse responded well to the aids.’ Merel Groen rode the stallion, bred by Hindrik Kuiper from Oosterend, to 80.5 points, thanks to a sound walk, an easy trot and good transitions in the canter for which he received an 8. ‘He should develop a bit more self-carriage’, is how the Jury commented on this half brother of Ernst k (Markus 491), who is active in dressage sports with Britt Muis.
The 4-year-old Gunner Jede (Markus 491 x Norbert 444) was ridden to an 80-point score by Demi van Nuys. The Stal Jede breeding product Gunner gave a fine presentation with lots of 7s and 7.5s on the protocol.

Six horses with 77 points or more

From the fifteen combinations that appeared at the start six horses received a score of 77 points or higher. Igor van Kreterenhof (Alwin 469 x Tsjalke 397) was the first starter in Panningen and earned 77.5 points. Boukje T (Epke 474 x Tsjalke 397) achieved 77 points and with a 77.5-point score Bonita van Zomerstaete (Hessel 480 x Onne 376) earned the AA predicate.
