The KFPS Board has appointed Marijke Akkerman as General Managing Director starting the 1st of January 2022.
From Acting Director to Director
Marijke Akkerman has been Acting Director since last July and subsequently put herself forward as a candidate by entering the official application procedures for the function of General Director. During the past five months Marijke has grown in her role and has succeeded in the practical implementation of the KFPS cultural values: connectivity, reliability, respect and professionalism. On these grounds the Board has full confidence in Marijke.
Ten years with the KFPS
Marijke Akkerman has been working for the KFPS for ten years already. Initially as a PR- and Communication Manager, then as Acting Director and soon as Director. She will be responsible for tasks such as Society matters, safeguarding the connection between the various bodies within and outside the Netherlands, representing the KFPS and being responsible for implementing the KFPS strategy and policy. She is going to commit herself to these tasks and their implementation together with the other MT members Nynke Bakker, Manager Studbook Affairs and Finances, and Greetje Swart, Manager Inspection Affairs, and all other staff.
