‘The Champion is a mare who received a 9 for the walk and another 9 for her trot this morning.’ Head of Jury Sabien Zwaga was referring to Xalvador fan Lutke Peinjum Model AAA (Hessel 480 x Jasper 366), Arno Thomassen’s 7-year-old brand-new Model mare who became Champion in the category 7-year- and older mares. Lining up for the Reserve Title was Sanne T.T. Model Sport AA (Alwin 469 x Beart 411), owned by Jaap van der Meulen.
Fine Model mares
This finale contained six mares, four mares that emerged from the Model declaration and two older mares that both come from Jaap van der Meulen’s yard. ‘These are all fine, good-looking Model mares’, Sabien Zwaga complimented the group of six. ‘They have a good walk, an extra trot, extra use of the hind leg and a fine build too.’
