On Saturday the 30th of August the category for 3-year-olds in Swedish Astörp counted two participating mares and both were awarded the Star predicate. Both too come from Jacomien Jellema-Haijtema´s stud. Birit Zanna J&H (Maurits 437) even made it to Star with a first premium and besides, also Preliminary Crown. ‘A classy mare with heaps of breed expression’, duty Jury member Jan Hellinx commented, ‘ she has clean, straight legwork and a strong build. She could have been slightly more convincing in walk because she tensed up a bit, but her trot was very good, uphill and with lots of bend in the hock.’ Birit Zanna was the Day Champion in Astörp. Her cousin Chiraat Jiska J&H (Maurits 437) was registered in the Studbook as Star second premium.
From Star to Crown
Jan Hellinx and Manuel Gasseling judged seven IBOP Tests. With Lisanne Veenje in the saddle, Ulrike van Henswoude Star (Wylster 463) scored 77 points which was enough to translate her Preliminary Crown predicate into a permanent one. Ulrike is owned by Aftonmora Friesians who have also become the new owners of Siert 499.
Strömsholm
A day later in Strömsholm a full brother of Siert 499, Frederick van de Benninger Star (Dries 421) owned by Tina Christander, completed an IBOP Test. He scored 81,5 points demonstrating ample scope in movement and good capacity for transitions. Rose-Marie Westermark´s Star mare Lova af Vibbleboda (Sake 449) was awarded 77,5 points for her Test which meant the 8-year-old Lova could take part in the in-hand inspection for Crown mares later in the day. ‘A mare in fine condition’, Jan Hellinx ruled, ‘An appealing front and beautiful outline. She showed a brisk walk and trot with good use of the hind leg.’ Lova received an orange rosette and on top of that became Day Champion of Strömsholm.
