In Bedford, England, Day Champion Wendela Z. Star AAA (Norbert 444) was promoted to Crown. Wendela had a filly foal by Markus 491 at her side which received a first premium at the inspection.

Light-footed trot

Wendela Z. (Norbert 444 x Jasper 366) completed an IBOP of 85.5 points with eights for walk and trot in 2020. ‘We did consider this for the inspection too,’ Jury member Jolanda Slootjes explained. She showed herself really well. She walked with lots of rhythm and spring in her step and fine use of the shoulder. She demonstrated a very light-footed trot while placing the hind leg well under the body.’ The 6-year-old Wendela, bred by the Zwaving family and owned by Ruth Sheikh, was declared Day Champion.

Yearling Youngster Champion

The Reserve Day Champion Title went to the Youngster Champion: Mirjam fan Fraithwen (Tiede 501) from Fraithwen Friesians Stud. Mirjam is a high-legged yearling with an expressive head. Her dam Jade fan de Groenesteegh Star (Stendert 447) is also dam of the 4-year-old Annalise fan Fraithwen (Tsjalle 454) who received a second premium and was declared Star. The young Annalise trotted with good bend and impulsion.

New Stars

Studbook mare Bernadette (Maurits 437 x Sape 381) now continues her life as a second-premium Star mare thanks to her wonderful breed expression, fine legwork and self-carriage in trot. Two geldings received a red rosette: the 8-year-old Sieger B. (Thorben 466) who presented a great front and Minno ‘fan Panhuys’ (Andries 415 x Dries 421). Minno is graced with abundant feathers and mainly thanks his Star status to his excellent walk. Minno is the fourth Star offspring for Roaske ‘fan Panhuys’(Olof 315) who therefore in addition to Star, can now also flaunt the Preferent predicate .

Kimberley Sykes rode Mirabéll v.d. All Blacks Star AA (Maeije 440) to 80 points in the IBOP. In her presentation Mirabéll caught the eye with her suppleness in movement. Reier van Marije Star AA (Reinder 452) scored 78.5 points with rider Christine Grey. Reier moved with fine self-carriage in trot.
